Your Gut Isn’t Just About Digestion
Your microbiome influences multiple systems in your body.
But stress, over sanitizing, environmental toxins, chemical additives and pesticides in our food all can lead to a depleted and imbalanced microbiome.

Synbiotics are probiotics combined with a special ingredient called “prebiotics”—a fiber that feeds and helps multiply the effect of probiotics. Without prebiotics, your body can’t get the full benefit from probiotics.

7 Human-Resident Probiotic Strains
We chose 'human-resident strains'—probiotics naturally found in the human digestive tract and uniquely suited to thrive there.*
See the Strains
Lactobacillus Plantarum
Lactobacillus reuteri
Bifidobacterium lactis
Lactobacillus paracasei
Bifidobacterium breve
Lactobacillus salivarius
Bifidobacterium longum
L-Glutamine
This amino acid helps strengthen the intestinal lining, and supports smoother digestion and better nutrient absorption.*
Prebiotic Fiber
Think of the prebiotics as “fuel” for probiotics — helping them multiply and thrive. Including prebiotics also results in production of beneficial “postbiotics.”*
Delayed Release Capsules
The capsule delivering your microbes matters. Alaya’s delayed-release capsules are designed to help the probiotics reach the small intestine, their optimal environment to make a difference.

Digestive Relief
I’ve tried several pro/prebiotics with no real results. However, ALAYA has manufactured a unique blend of strains at a reasonable cost that has made a dramatic difference for me. Kudos to ALAYA!

Types of Strains
Our probiotic strains were thoughtfully selected by organic chemists, registered dietitians, and gastroenterologists. We chose 'human-resident strains'—probiotics naturally found in the human digestive tract—over soil, plant, and dairy strains for specific reasons:
Human-resident strains are uniquely suited to thrive in the human gut.
Research suggests that probiotics native to the human intestinal tract may offer distinct benefits compared to those from other sources.
While dairy and plant-based probiotics are commonly found in foods, and soil-based strains occur naturally in the environment, our Advanced Synbiotic formula is designed to prioritize human-resident strains for targeted gut health support.
Amount of Strains
Not all probiotics are created equal, and the number of strains in a formulation doesn’t always translate to better results. Research suggests that focusing on a select group of well-studied probiotic strains can be more beneficial than including a long list of strains with unknown interactions.
At Alaya, we’ve chosen 7 carefully selected, research-backed human-resident strains for our Advanced Synbiotic. These strains naturally inhabit the human digestive tract and are thoughtfully paired with prebiotics to help them thrive. Unlike soil, plant, or dairy-based strains, human-resident strains are specifically tailored to support your gut health and overall wellness.
CFUs (Colony Forming Units)
More isn’t always better when it comes to CFUs (Colony-Forming Units) in probiotics. While some products boast 50 to 300 billion CFUs, higher amounts may not necessarily provide additional benefits. A balanced approach to CFUs can support gut health, as overly high amounts may not always align with your body’s needs.
Many products include common strains like Lactobacillus acidophilus, often found in foods such as yogurt. Alaya Advanced Synbiotic is designed with 14 billion CFUs from 7 thoughtfully chosen strains to support a balanced gut microbiome.
No Spores
Some probiotics use Soil-Based Organisms (SBOs), known for their spore-forming ability, which helps them survive challenging conditions like high temperatures and stomach acid. However, research suggests that SBOs germinate most effectively when exposed to saliva during chewing, a process that doesn’t occur when they are taken as capsules.
Because of this, spore-forming probiotics are often best obtained through food rather than supplements. At Alaya, we focus on human-resident strains specifically selected to naturally support your gut microbiome
A Targeted Approach
Some probiotic formulations include additional ingredients like botanicals, enzymes, or postbiotics. While these ingredients may have benefits in other contexts, they are not essential for effective probiotic support. Postbiotics, for example, are naturally produced when probiotics interact with prebiotics in the gut. With a well-balanced formulation, there’s no need to add postbiotics directly—they are created where and when they are needed as part of a natural process.
At Alaya, we focus on what matters: carefully selected probiotics paired with powerful prebiotics to support a healthy gut microbiome without unnecessary additives.
Delayed Release Capsule
When it comes to pro- and prebiotic supplements, the capsule delivering your microbes matters as much as the contents. Alaya Advanced Synbiotic’s delayed-release capsules are designed to help probiotics reach the small intestine, their optimal environment. This gradual release supports the effectiveness of the probiotics by ensuring they integrate smoothly into your gut microbiome.
Questions
How should I take Synbiotic?
We formulated Synbiotic to be simple to add to your daily routine. With just one capsule per day in the morning or night. Take it with or without food; there’s no need to refrigerate them.
Do I have to refrigerate Advanced Synbiotic?
No. Our Advanced Synbiotic is shelf stable and does not require refrigeration. The bacteria strains are tested to confirm stability of CFU count as well. It’s best to store them in a cool, dry place away from extreme heat.
What is Hypromellose?
It’s a beneficial coating on our capsules that delays the release of ingredients until they are deep into your gut. This allows the probiotics to be released where they can bring the most relief.
